Terms & conditions
The terms we work to
Plainly written: how we quote, when you pay, what the 3-year warranty covers and what we need from you on site.
About these terms
These terms apply to locksmith work carried out by The Bow Locks, based at E16 4RF, London, for customers in London. Instructing us to attend or to carry out work means you accept them.
Quotes and pricing
Our prices start from £48. The final price depends on the lock, the door and the work required, and we tell you the price before we travel or before we begin.
If work on site turns out to be different from what was described — for example a different lock type or additional damage — we will stop, explain the position and agree a revised price with you before continuing.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed account terms with you in advance, as we do with letting agents and property maintenance companies.
We accept all forms of payment.
Proof of entitlement
Before opening a property or changing locks we may ask you to show that you are entitled to access it, or to confirm the instruction with the landlord, letting agent or managing agent. This protects you and the occupier, and we may decline the job if entitlement cannot be established.
Our workmanship and warranty
All work carried out and all locks fitted by us are covered by a 3-year warranty. If something we installed fails within that period through a fault in the part or in our workmanship, we will return and put it right.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by forced entry, vandalism, misuse, work carried out on our installation by someone else, or normal wear on parts we did not supply.
Non-destructive entry
We open locks without damage wherever it is possible to do so. Some locks and some situations require destructive entry, in which case we will tell you before we start and explain what will need replacing.
Access and site conditions
You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and the door concerned. Where a door, frame or surrounding structure is already damaged or defective, our work is limited to the lock or item we have been asked to attend to unless we agree otherwise.
Response times
Our typical response time across London is 30 minutes and we are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Response times are estimates and can be affected by traffic, distance and demand.
Cancellation
Let us know as soon as possible if you no longer need us. Where a locksmith has already travelled to the property at your request, a call-out charge may apply.
Scope of service
We are a property locksmith and work on domestic and commercial premises only. We do not provide automotive locksmith services.
Liability
We carry out our work with the skill and care expected of a City & Guilds qualified locksmith. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.
Complaints and contact
If something is not right, contact us at thebowlocks@outlook.com or call 07546 247 247 and we will deal with it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
